Maine Entrepreneur Resource Corps accepts Opticliff Law as a Consultant.

We are humbled and excited to announce that the Maine Technology Institute (MTI) has selected Opticliff Law to join the Maine Entrepreneur Resource Corps (MERC) as a consultant. This partnership aligns with our firm’s goals to support the growth of Maine’s business community and to help business owners by providing approachable, dependable and knowledgeable assistance for their business needs.

What Does MERC Consulting Provide?

MERC helps entrepreneurs access high-level professional services  by vetting Maine-based providers and providing funding in the form of grants. These grants are intended for projects that will contribute to the long-term growth of qualifying Maine businesses by addressing an immediate consulting need. If approved, such a grant may provide half of the project fee, up to $20,000. In addition to funding for our legal services, MERC offers support in each of the following categories:

Is Your Company Eligible?

In order to qualify for MERC funding, applying businesses must be based in Maine and have under $5 million in annual revenue. Due to a recent transition in the source of MERC’s funding, applying businesses must also be referred to MERC by an MTI Investment Officer or have had prior Core MTI funding. MERC will relaunch with a new funding model soon, so these requirements are subject to change in the near future.

Next Steps:

If you believe your business may be eligible for MERC support or if you have any questions about MTI or the MERC program, the first step is  to submit an online interest form to MERC directly. While we are honored to be accepted as a consultant for MERC projects, Opticliff Law is otherwise unaffiliated with MTI or MERC.  Thank you for your continued trust in us, and we look forward to partnering with you to achieve your business goals!
